TAGORE ARTS COLLEGE(2005-2008)

The Tagore Arts College, Pondicherry. The college known for all its notorious and mischief .It was started some 40 years back. It is located in lawspet region of Pondicherry A beautiful place with lot of green trees and leaves spread over the campus. The weather there is usually cool and in rainy days it is even more peaceful and to add oil to the fire it is romantic too.

It was the year 2005, when I joined my under graduation well as they call the days of enjoyment in India. It was the commerce department which I joined. At first it looked as if the college is very strict and much disciplined, but later it became a picnic spot for everyone. I joined the college with my school mates, we were a gang of nearly eight to ten boys with most of us being petit guys.

The Mass bunks and close down of the class B.com II “A”

It was the year 2005 and we were into our second year. It was the very moment of our college days when we started mass bunking our classes; we were warned a lot of times by our HOD. Our HOD was a well built and strong man in his early fifties, at the beginning we used to get frightened at the sight of him. He too warned us a lot of times not to mass bunk classes as we were spoiling other students too. But despite all this warning we dared to mass bunk again and that is it, our staff members lost their coolness.

On a cool Monday morning we were casually walking to our class in a  gang, when we reached our department, the very sight of HOD made my heartbeat skip a second the whole department was in the corridor and our class was close down. Wow what a sight, class shut down the whole staff members standing outside the class.

At the very moment our HOD said “ Dear students you no longer have classes, you can go home or else where, you can come back and collect your hall tickets when it is issued”. We are shocked to hear it, we already knew that the staff members weren't happy about our mass bunks but closing down the class room was a little more than we expected. This thing prolonged for a week, we didn't attend our classes and we were just handing around the college until one day our principal found out the problem and bought a solution to it by telling us to sign a bond that we wont bass bunk anymore and we will attend our classes regularly both the forenoon and the afternoon session.

From that day onwards we started attending the afternoon session which we have never attended since joining the college. Tiffin boxes were brought to have lunch, we used to have lunch in groups near a coffee shop opposite to our college. Things were going on nicely until when a problem arose between our college guys and the opposite college guys. From that time we stopped attending afternoon session and we were back to normal.

I still remember my staff calling us “ II B.com A” highly irregular, we used to argue to our staff members for showing partiality between section A and B. So n so happened , the space here is not enough for the events that happened during our college days. To be precise we were called the "Varutha padatha valibar sangam" courtesy to Vadivel
